Jornada de puertas abiertas // Come visit us!

En esta época en la que los estudiantes de Bachillerato de todos los colegios e institutos piensan qué carreras estudiar y buscan la mejor universidad o el mejor centro de estudios, estamos preparando una jornada de puertas abiertas en el CENP de Madrid.

Esta es la mejor forma de enseñarte nuestras instalaciones para que descubras el lugar donde recibirás la formación de mayor calidad y prestigio en las profesiones que más te interesan: Turismo, Comunicación, Publicidad, Arquitectura, Diseño y un largo etcétera que queremos compartir contigo.

Árboles de los deseos // Trees full of wishes

Esta noticia es muy curiosa desde el punto de vista del diseño, la arquitectura y el turismo.

Como ya sabréis, desde hace varios años, el Ayuntamiento de Madrid "planta" árboles navideños artificiales en puntos estratégicos de la ciudad para celebrar las fiestas, decorar un poco el ambiente y hacer que las calles y las plazas tengan un toque más especial.

Este año sorprende en concreto la idea de crear un árbol en el Retiro, que va creciendo con los deseos que los madrileños metamos en globos de aire. El árbol se plantará el día 21 de diciembre y se "abrirá" el 6 de enero para liberar todos los globos llenos de deseos ansiosos de llegar al cielo.

¿Poético, no? Qué maravilla...

You are going to find this quite interesting because it has a lot to do with design, architecture and tourism. As you already know, the government of Madrid has been "planting" artificial Christmas trees all around the city in order to celebrate the season and to create a more magical atmosphere.

This year there is a an even-more-surprising idea: one of those trees is going to be planted in the Retiro Park on December 21st, and it is going to grown progressively more and more thanks to the inhabitants of Madrid, who are kindly invited to make a wish and to introduce a balloon inside...

Balloons will be freed on January the 6th to take those wishes as high as the sky...

Isn't it poetic? How wonderful!

Turismo de invierno // Winter tourism

Con el frío de diciembre ya a flor de piel, es momento de cambiar los planes habituales y buscar alternativas de ocio y turismo para el largo invierno que vamos a afrontar.

Una de las opciones que más gustan es, por supuesto, la de escaparse a la nieve para esquiar o para hacer snowboard. Son deportes con amantes incondicionales, y este año promete en cuestión de meteorología. Las páginas que pueden interesarte son Esquiando y Esquiar.

Y para viajes un poco más largos y a lugares un poco más lejanos, es buena idea echar un vistazo a iniciativas como las campañas de promoción de invierno en Brujas (Bélgica) o en Montreal (Canadá). Ofertas de vuelos, exposiciones y un montón de ideas para combatir el frío.

En la carretera y sin planes // On the road with no plans

El turismo evoluciona, como todas nuestras profesiones. En todos los campos (y este no iba a ser menos), Internet se convierte en un fantástico altavoz de promoción de nuestros proyectos.

Uno especialmente curioso, que ha nacido hace muy poquito tiempo y que ya ha conseguido ganarse un puesto de honor en la Red es Europa Asfalto: cinco estudiantes que se lanzaron a la carretera con una tienda de campaña, un coche y muchos días libres sin ningún plan definido.

La aventura fue el maravilloso origen de un blog de viajes muy peculiar.

Tourism, like all kind of professions, is evolving. Internet's been playing a very important role lately for it is a wonderful tool to promote everyone's interesting projects.

We have found one we believe is specially original. It was created a short time ago but it has already managed to have an important success.

The name of this project is "Europa Asfalto" ('Europe Asphalt' would be the literal translation): 5 students on the road with just a tent, a car and lots of free days with no plans.

The adventure was the marvelous origin of a peculiar tourism videoblog.

Tu profesión en el extranjero // Your profession abroad

Hoy en día parece una obviedad la importancia de viajar y entrar en contacto con otras culturas, conocer lugares emocionantes y mejorar el nivel de lenguas extranjeras. Todo esto lo saben muy bien nuestros estudiantes de Turismo...

Pues bien, aunque a nuestras generaciones les fascine viajar, hay un reto que aún muchos no se atreven a asumir: estudiar en otro país (y en otro idioma) durante un periodo de tiempo prolongado.

¿Es que quienes se benefician de las becas Erasmus no vuelven a casa contando maravillas de su experiencia? Hay que saber que Erasmus no es la única opción.
Lo importante es moverse para aprender y disfrutar (y, siempre que sea posible, hacerlo con una beca). Para informarte, te proponemos echar un vistazo a páginas como esta o a artículos como este. ¿Y qué tal si conoces, además, toda la información que pone a tu disposición la Unión Europea?

Nowadays, the importance of travelling as an opportunity to know other cultures, to discover amazing new countries and to improve our languages seems obvious. (Yeah, we're sure that our Tourism students absolutely agree).

Well, the truth is slightly different. Although new generations regard travelling as a fascinating option for their free time, there continues to exist a challenge that many young people don't dare to face: studying abroad for a long period of time.

Haven't you heard a thing about amazing, unbelievable experiences thanks to Erasmus scholarships? Well, Erasmus is not the only option.

Responsible tourism? // ¿Turismo responsable?

You may have heard of 'responsible tourism' lately, but it is a concept that doesn't seem to have true importance.

Nothing less real, and you're going to have the opportunity to learn more about it on October 27th, thanks to CENP and EARTH (European Alliance for Responsible Tourism and Hospitality).

Sounds interesting? Then you should definately come to CENP on October 27th, at 19.00 and attend the fantastic conference about responsible tourism.

Access is free so remember to arrive early enough and to tell everyone who may be interested.
